I am the Education Specialist of the Christian Education Committee of the Presbyterian Church in America. Upon request I have started this blog for communication between all of you who are involved in children's ministry in the local church. Anyone can come to this sight, but you can only post if I invite you. That is not my plan, it's just the way it works. I will be sending out official invitations to this sight to everyone I can think of. If you want to be invited, send me your e-mail address.
I hope this will help to encourage and equip all of us as we share resources, ask questions, give answers and build relationships with one another. Notice that the blogspot logo is from our KIDS UNDER CONSTRUCTION handbook that you can order at www.cepbookstore.com I believe this page can help us add to this resource in the future as all of us seek to make disciples of the next generation.
So...log on and blog with me!
In His grip,
Sue Jakes

I noticed after posting this that I left out the R in ministry. So, you should now all feel quite comfortable in publishing your comments. I'm a terrible editor.
Thank you SO MUCH! This is amazing! I can't wait to see more people on and joining the blog!
Sue,
Thanks for setting this up. I am just entering the blog world with a blog on our church website.
This should be a great tool for all kinds of communication.
THANKS! Great idea! Looking forward to seeing what everyone else is doing and to learning what we can do to enlarge the covenant kingdom!
Ok...Let's introduce a topic. Several of the "new kids on the block" are asking me about nursery ministry. How do you recruit membership to help? How many paid staff do you employ? What are your age divisions? Are you using any curriculum below age 2? If you have some thoughts or experience in this, please share!
Thank you for doing this, Sue.
Will touch base later.
In 2009, Christian Ed is going to try and sponsor regional Children's ministry conferences in as many places as possible. What makes it possible? Local people being willing to provide a place and some contact work with people in their area/presbyteries to make it happen. We had one last February in Orlando and plan to go back again next year. What do you think? Are any of you up to the task?
Sue,
What about considering the Nashville/ Franklin area for a regional conference? I would like to know more about what is involved.
Hi, Sue. I would love to blog - although I have little experience in blogging!!! Sign me up, please.
